Why hire me?

1. I eat, sleep, and breath IT.

If you cut me, I bleed 1's and 0's. Whatever it is you need done, I already have an idea how to do it, and before I begin, I'll make sure that it's the best way to do it. The web changes a little bit each day, and every few months it takes a giant leap forward. I spend my personal time making sure that I'm on top of each of those changes. 

2. I'm a freelancer.

That means in the last month, I've probably done work in 9 different industries, and found the best way to do 73 different things. Your typical 'in house' programmer knows how to do 1 thing really well, but I have to know how to do 100 things good enough to get paid to do them. 

3.I don't watch a clock.

My day starts when I wake up and ends when my project is done. Most of my clients pay me per project, so I'm not going to drag out the hours. You hired me because you NEED something done, and I'm going to get it to you as soon as possible.

4. My work is quality.

If you're not happy with it, neither am I. If you're not happy with it, you're not going to use me again. 

5. Discretion.

Some of my clients don't care if everyone knows they used a hired gun for their website. Some of them do. You can hire me and nobody has to know.

Now let's lay down some ground rules.

• You give me a scope of work, and I give you either an hourly cost or a flat rate for the project.
• If you go the flat rate route, then I'll ask for a deposit of 1/3rd of the estimate. In some cases, I may only ask for 10% if the project is large. This is up to me, not you.
• I'm a dotcom cowboy. I'm not a business partner. I don't work for free or for "a percentage, once the site takes off".
• I'm sure you're really excited about your idea / product / event. I'm excited to make a great website for your product, but do not ask or expect me to sell your product or promote it outside of making the website. 
• I'm going to send you an invoice when I'm done. You're going to pay me within 48 hours. If you don't, I'm going to send you an invoice with a 10% late fee attached. You then have 72 hours. After that, I'll be adding 5% per day. I have the right to waive this fee, you do not. I will reserve the right to repossess the code I've created until you pay.
• I have a standard contract for large projects. It contains all of the terms and conditions listed here, with all the fancy legal terms for payment and ownership of the creative works. If you have your own paperwork you would like me to print, sign, and scan I'm ok with that. If you have an NDA, I'll sign it. If you have a non-compete, don't bother. I'm a freelancer, I'm not signing a non-compete.
